Coming into grad school, I was obsessed with this idea of the Anthropocene. Admittedly still am, but it’s settled down a bit since the time I started writing an Anthropocene-focused blog, the writings of which I’m now porting over to my personal blog.
Here was some thinking from that blog, all still relevant:
The Anthropocene signals a revolution of ideas.
But what does it mean to be living in the “age of the human”, when our knowledge of this age—and our knowledge of human behavior—evolves so rapidly?
And insofar as potent ideas exist in the latency, how are the implications of the Anthropocene surfacing in modern culture?
Such remains part of what this blog aims to explore, although now taking a backseat to the topics of artificial intelligence and blockchain in the communications industries.
